Description

Deliciously rich and moist Black Forest Muffins bursting with chocolate and cherry flavors, perfect for any occasion.


Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup cocoa powder
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup butter (or oil)
  • 1 cup cherry filling
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • Whipped cream (for topping)
  • Extra cherry bits (for decoration)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease your muffin pan or line with muffin liners.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together eggs, butter (or oil), and vanilla extract.
  4. Combine wet and dry ingredients, stirring until just combined.
  5. Fold in cherry filling and any optional dark chocolate chunks.
  6. Divide batter into muffin cups, filling them halfway. Spoon some cherry filling on top of the batter.
  7. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  8. Allow to cool on a rack before serving and top with whipped cream and extra cherry bits if desired.

Notes

For best results, bring ingredients to room temperature before mixing. Do not overmix the batter.
