- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 egg
- Coarse sugar for sprinkling (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
- In a bowl, mix together the flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon.
- Add the cold butter and use your fingers to work it into the dry ingredients until you have pea-sized chunks.
- Fold in the diced apples.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk and egg. Add to the flour mixture and stir until just combined.
- Turn the dough onto a lightly floured surface and gently shape it into a disk about 1 inch thick.
- Cut into wedges or rounds and place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Sprinkle with coarse sugar if desired.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes or until lightly browned.
- Let cool slightly before serving.
