Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Cut the cold butter into the flour until the mixture resembles coarse sand.
- Add the baking powder, salt, and brown sugar, and mix well.
- Stir in the cream or milk gently until just combined.
- Roll the dough into a rectangle and sprinkle with cinnamon and brown sugar.
- Roll up the dough like a cinnamon roll and flatten slightly into a circle.
- Slice the dough into triangle wedges.
- Place the wedges on a baking sheet and bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
- Let cool and drizzle with icing sugar if desired.
Notes
Use cold butter for the flakiest scones. You can freeze the dough to bake fresh scones later.
